June 9, 2026 Meeting Minutes
Board of SupervisorsThe Vasa Township Board of Supervisors met on this day at 8:00 p.m. for its regular meeting. Present were Supervisors Carlson, Hyllengren, and Samuelson. Also present were Peterson, Gesme, and Zervas.
The minutes of the May meeting were approved. Claims #9599-9612 were approved for a total of $73,423.98. The payroll distributions were approved. The cash control statement was approved.
Sheriff Corporal Wallerich and Deputy Van Epps visited the meeting. There was not much to report, but it was noted the speed trailer may be helping with motorcycle traffic on County 7.
Jason Stahnke attended the meeting to finalize plans for the new concrete pad at the town hall. He and the board went outside to review the forms in place. It was decided to extend the concrete another 5 feet to the west, with at least 5.5” of depth. The northwest and southwest corners of the slab will be angled to avoid corners prone to cracking. The township will handle reconfiguring the driveway as needed. The west steps will be adjusted so the top is level with the doorway. A railing on the steps is not included and can be added by a different company later. Stahnke will recalculate the estimate accordingly and request partial payment before pouring concrete. The Board directed the clerk and treasurer to pay the initial amount, once calculated by Stahnke, as soon as possible. The remainder would be paid at the next meeting once the project is done.
The clerk reported Dustin Lindahl is off work for an indeterminate length of time due to an injury sustained outside of work. John Peterson will fill in as needed.
The Ag Partners LP contract was discussed. The board directed the treasurer to prepay 900 gallons for the 2026-2027 season.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:08 p.m.
Mike Carlson, Chair
Mike Gesme, Clerk
